Petal Speed is a free internet performance and speed test app exclusive to Huawei. It falls under the Petal umbrella, which includes Petal Mail, Petal Search and other apps. As the name suggests, Petal Speed can be described as a testing tool that includes mobile network plus Wi-Fi network upload and download, as well as diagnostic features.
Some of the benefits of using Petal Speed include quick installation, ease-of-use and precise results and feedback. The app is highly compatible and supports 2G up to 5G. Additionally, it gives feedback on Wi-Fi speed, latency and provides users with the exact, real-time network status. An alternative you can try is Speedtest.
In-app use
The user interface and overall look of Petal Speed is appealing and futuristic while remaining user friendly. The buttons are big and clear, making navigating the app a pleasant experience.
The bottom-left menu gives you access to the network diagnostics tool, which allows you to analyse your Wi-Fi connectivity while also showing where you can get better coverage. Here, you can also find the analytics on the mobile networks and signal strength.
Other features include simple steps to start and stop tests and diagnostics.
Compatibility
From the information we know, Petal Speed will be compatible with all flagship devices, as well as the majority of the lower models. This is positive news since it will also be compatible with 2G to 5G networks, which isn’t always the case.
Petal Speed in China
Petal Speed is a fantastic app. It’s an app to look out for in the future. It currently only works within China and isn’t yet available for international users. Until Huawei makes the app available in its international app gallery, it's difficult to make a full review on the app apart from what we've seen online.
