Microsoft Corporation has developed Edge Dev, a free communication app. It is compatible with Android 5.0 and higher and requires unrestricted internet access. The purpose of the Microsoft Edge Dev app is to keep users updated on current and future developments for the Microsoft Edge browser.
Microsoft is looking for feedback from users to help improve this browser. It includes suggestions of features users need in the Edge browser. Use the app and get insider news about Edge developments. If you like the results you see, try Microsoft Edge on your phone.
Using the app
To start, choose if you want to share your usage and diagnostic data with Microsoft. Then tap confirm. On the next screen, you can customize your browsing experience. Choose the default, light, or dark themes. You’ll also select from four tab layouts: focused, inspirational, informational, and a customizable option.
The app lets you set the tracking prevention to basic, balanced, or strict. If you prefer, skip this and set it up later. The next step is to create an account or sign in to your Microsoft account to sync your favourites, history, etc., with other Edge browsers you use, and this step is also skippable. Your final option is to turn AdBlock Plus on or off. Then continue to set or decline it as your default browser.
The experimental browser’s home page offers various features. On the top left, you can access your account, passwords, addresses, and payment information. The top right corner gives you different page layout options. Use the search bar on top, do an image search using the camera icon, or tap the microphone for voice search.
Linked icons underneath the search bar point to various popular sites like Facebook, Wikipedia, etc, while the ‘My Feed” shows you topics of interest. If you tab ‘Personalize’ next to it, you can choose your subjects. The bottom toolbar shows you arrows for forward and back, your tabs, and a sharing icon. Tap on the three dots in the middle to access a customisable menu.
