ISGPP Activity Mapping is a free Android app developed by ISGP Project under the Social & Communication category. The app aims to strengthen the institutional processes related to decision making and implementation with better participation, transparency, and accountability. It helps in providing knowledge of whether all the processes like planning and other pre-implementation activities were properly followed and how and where the services are actually being delivered. The app also helps in viewing spatial distribution of service delivery institutions, works taken up for planned development and location and nature of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) works, which results in judging the access, coverage and possible impacts of the investments being made.
The app allows users to geo-tag planned activities with time-stamped images. This ensures that the location, physical look of the pre-work stage, date and time of starting any work will be precisely known and the same can be visible on the web-map. This feature helps in monitoring the coverage and quality of services delivered, building capacity at all levels including mentoring and better oversight functioning, and strengthening the institutional processes related to decision making and implementation. The ISGPP Activity Mapping app is an excellent tool for monitoring and strengthening rural government services.
