Google Play Movies and TV: To See What is New For You
Google's latest offering, the Chromecast Ultra, allows you to stream Google Play Movies and TV to your Android device. The Chromecast Ultra is similar to the older Chromebase devices but also has a bit more to offer. It will support not only Google Play Movies and TV on the go, but also YouTube, Vimeo, Yahoo, AOL, Sky and Plexo. This is an incredibly powerful device that is also priced affordably and should be considered by everyone. For those of you who have been using Chromium before, this should be a no brainer.
Along with the release of the new Chromecast Ultra, Google has also changed the name of their Google Play Movies & TV application to Google TV. The app is essentially Google s new store for purchasing and renting movies and television, and it seems that Google wants to follow Apple s footsteps. Even though they are free to download, the Google TV app costs $50 a year. With these prices in mind, the Chromcast Ultra is the smart choice if you are already signed up with Google Play Movies and TV and are thinking about signing up for the Google TV app as well.
I've found the Google Play Movies & TV application to be extremely easy to use, even for a non-technical person. It is extremely intuitive and seems to have a well thought out interface, similar to the iPhone version of the application. Google really wants to become one of your all in one device for everything, and I can't see why they couldn't make it happen, especially now that they have moved into the mobile world with their new Chromecast Ultra.
