Extraneüm is a free brutal, first-person shooter demo game from software developer David Jalbert. The game is relatively violent and not suitable for younger players. Although this game is free to play, you have the option of donating a small fee upon downloading the files.
The storyline for Extraneüm is just what you’d expect from a brutal, first-person shooter. You get hired as a security guard for a top-secret mission. Unsurprisingly, aliens are involved, so things go south quickly. Extraneüm is similar to the horror games like Pacify, [ECHOSTASIS] Prologue and Haunted Warehouse.
More on the storyline
In this game, you’re a professional security guard for hire that has been chosen for protection during a highly classified mission called Extraneüm. You were chosen because you scored very highly on the ‘universal weapons handling assessment’.
When you set out to the mission’s location, things go bad very quickly. Essentially, you come to find out that there are alien-looking monstrosities with you, and a lot of them too. You’ll need to find a way to survive the threat.
In-game play, look and feel
Extraneüm has an overall old-school look and feel. The pace isn’t too drastic. There are some intense moments, but the pace is relatively mild for the most part. Players who enjoy exploration and hunting will love Extraneüm, as it has a specific focus on these two aspects.
When playing Extraneüm, you’ll need to do an extraordinary amount of killing to survive, so your choice of weapons and tactics are critical to your survival. While progressing through the game, you’ll get upgrades that are vital as you progress through the spooky laboratories of Extraneüm.
Some of the weapons you can expect to use consist of a chainsaw-like weapon, knife, the trusty old submachine gun and a shotgun, just to name a few.
Fantastic first-person shooter demo
Given that Extraneüm is still a demo, some progress is still needed, which is applicable to any game still in development. Extraneüm has a great, intriguing storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
One aspect you’ll enjoy is collecting and using the weapons against your enemies, which adds some thrill for FPS gamers. While the pace is slow, you’ll love the retro feel.
