David Jalbert has developed Extraneüm for MacOS X. It’s available in English, and the game is still in development. You play for about half an hour, using configurable controls, and the graphics are colour-blind friendly. A free demo is available for download.
It’s a single-player, first-person shooter game, where you find employment as a security guard for the classified Extraneüm project. The focus of the game is exploring and hunting alien-looking monsters. Other shooter games you can also try are Cold Shot and Call of Duty 2.
About the game
You’re now working as a security guard for the classified Extraneüm project. But they never told you that it will be an ongoing battle against alien-like monsters.
You explore the facility, hunt down the monsters, and score upgrades as you work through the laboratories. You’ll also collect resources like SMG bullets and medkits to help you progress through the levels. You are searching for the truth and a way to end it all.
The facility has an oppressive and lonely feeling, conveyed through the primarily black and dark grey colours. The monsters blend into this background with their grey and brown colours. They appear unexpectedly by themselves or in groups, and when you hit them, they explode in a shower of red.
The game requires at least 4 GB memory and an Intel Core i3 8300 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 processor. It also needs a GeForce GT1030 or Radeon RX 550 graphics card.
Fast-paced action game
Extraneüm is a first-person shooter game that will keep you playing for about half an hour. It lets you explore the desolate facility and test your reflexes against the fast-appearing monsters. You’ll need to discover resources to help you progress through the levels and reach your objective.
The latest release fixed weapon animations where the shotgun was not visible. Enemies return to their starting point if they lose the player for more than ten seconds. Respawns don’t take half of your ammo anymore, and a different build for Max OS X is available.
