Flexible VPN client for Macs

Shimo is a flexible VPN client for Macs that supports most major VPN protocols, including Cisco VPN connections. It started in 2006 as a replacement for the limited graphical user interface that came with Cisco's VPN client. Shimo offers more control and functionality than the native Cisco client in OS X 10.6.
Using Shimo is easy. After installation, it may ask for your system password to update its drivers and support as many VPN protocols as possible. Setting up a new connection is straightforward, with the option to import a profile or manually enter the connection details. However, some users have reported difficulties with Cisco VPN connections on Snow Leopard.
Shimo provides many customizations and preferences, although most users won't need to modify them. The free version has limited connection times and occasional upgrade prompts. Overall, Shimo is a slick and highly flexible VPN client, but it may have compatibility issues with Cisco VPN connections.
