Although the software has been available for years on Apple products, it is still surprising to see that a Windows alternative exists. Even those who use Lexicycle's Stanza desktop for their laptop, iPhone, and iPad might not be familiar with this fact; the company does not market it heavily. Only for kicks, downloaded Stanza Desktop, zoomed in the files, and oh, forgot to strip all those unwanted headers. Then again, it was worth a shot. After all, it's free!
Microsoft has come a long way from Explorer and has become a billion-dollar corporation, so perhaps, it is time for the text layout views in Windows to take a leap, too. One sure thing about Microsoft programs is that they always add new features, such as the Word macro recorder, which is available on WordPad and Excel. Not only that, but it also allows you to create and share Microsoft Word documents. Perhaps, we need a similar feature when it comes to Stanza Desktop.
In other words, Stanza desktop, as it appears on an apple iPhone and an iPod Touch can come in handy when converting PDF files into HTML or any other common application. I mean, what if you are a web designer? It could come in quite handy on your iPhone or iPod Touch when you're trying to create websites, draw diagrams, or convert PDFs into websites - and all this while not having to type in a bunch of symbols, colors, or other text. With the vertical scrolling capability of the Stanza Desktop app, you won't miss all those things you've been used to using.
