Send to Kindle is a free application from Amazon that lets you send files from your computer or e-reader to your Kindle device. The application works only with Amazon Kindle devices manufactured by Amazon. It works with Kindle phones, tablets, computers and even cellular phones running the Amazon Kindle operating system. Although this is free software, Amazon does not maintain the application, hence it is rarely updated or supported.
To use Send to Kindle with your Amazon Kindle device, you need to download and install the Amazon Kindle PC Software application from Amazon's official website. Once the software is downloaded and installed on your computer or Kindle device, you will be able to access the Amazon Kindle PC Application which allows you to read and send files from your computer to your Kindle device. This is one of the simplest ways to read and send documents to your Kindle device as well as sending files from your computer to your Kindle device. However, this feature does not work with all kinds of file formats including PDF, JPEG and many others.
When you run the Send to Kindle PC program, you will be able to find several folders on your computer containing different kinds of files. These include documents, images, audio, video and links. You will be able to open these folders and transfer files from your computer to your Kindle by clicking on the various folders. After you have transferred the file from your computer, you can either save the document or just store it into the Amazon Kindle PC app to read it in the Kindle later.
