Scratch is an open-source development environment created by the MIT Media Lab and aimed at educating people with little or no programming experience, primarily children between the ages of 8 and 16. Scratch is used as by schools to aid teaching in multiple disciplines (such as math, computer science, language arts, social studies).

Scratch has a very large and active open learning community that contribute and provide resources for users to share their work, get feedback, and learn from each other.
