QuickTime is a free, open-source tool written entirely in QuickTime Object Language (QML). Designed originally for Mac OS X, QuickTime can also be used on Windows-based computers. It was originally part of the Mac optimizing and compression libraries, hence sharing the same binary format with the Mac versions.
QuickTime is a powerful multi-media development environment (MIDs) that allows the manipulation of image, video, audio, text, and metadata. QuickTime can be freely downloaded from the official website at no cost. However, there are commercial options available for the users who need advanced features. QuickTime can be integrated with third-party programs to create streaming videos, integrate QuickTime with Windows Media and Windows video capture applications, create streaming QuickTime movies or television programs, create and stream digital video from webcam and webcams, and convert PDFs into QuickTime.
QuickTime can be controlled with the help of mouse, keyboard, or voice commands. However, QuickTime's powerful visual and audio effects require lots of computer processing power. For this reason, it is recommended that QuickTime movies and photos are not stored on small files. Since QuickTime uses Quartz Flash for storing data, converting QuickTime files to non-Flash formats could slow down the computer system.
