Dying Light is the future game of Techland, the team of which consists of the game director, lead writer, visual design, and audio production. The story of Dying Light revolves around an undercover agent known as Kyle Crane, who finds himself caught in the middle of a deadly outbreak in a remote Middle-Eastern country called Harran. As he fights his way through the dangerous environment to reach safety, he'll encounter a wide range of difficult characters including terrorists, authorities, and the infected themselves. Techland has done a fantastic job creating a believable world that looks and sounds real while delivering a unique gaming experience with Dying Light.
One of the major differentiating factors between Dying Light and similar games is the way in which the player character, also known as the "char" in the game, moves and fights. In traditional zombie games, your character will just stand still and eventually die as a result of being shot or stabbed. But in Dying Light, your character can run faster, climb higher, and Dodge attacks quickly, which allows you to create a tactical puzzle-solving system as you fight off waves of hordes of infected creatures. In addition, your character's actions are also reflected in the game as he earns money, level up, and uses items and weapons as he fights through the game.
What really makes Dying Light stands out is its use of a "Dying" mechanic, which lets you play the game in the same way you would play a survival game in that you must conserve your health and energy by avoiding danger and fighting off infected enemies. Dying Light incorporates a "Survival" element into its gameplay in that you'll have to save the remaining survivors before the virus spreads to the next map. In doing so, you'll have to work together with new friends to clear rooms of the infected and then move on to the next area. This aspect of the game is what sets it apart from similar titles released this year. As a result, Dying Light stands tall as one of the most well-rounded survival titles on the market today.
