Brutal Doom
Brutal Doom is an interesting game mod for the 1993 sci-fi first-person shooter Doom developed by the Brazilian creator Sergeant Mark IV. It adds many graphical features and gameplay mechanics to the already impressive Doom engine. The game has been in active development since early 2021 and still continues to release new versions. Many of the graphical details are achieved through the use of a deferred rendering technique, which helps greatly in reducing the amount of shares that need to be used.
One of the most important features of Brutal Doom is the introduction of two new multiplayer maps, Hellraiser and Canyon. The maps are well designed and complement the main game well, adding a new dimension to the gameplay. These maps are split up into two teams, and players are required to kill all the demons they come across as well as any humans or creatures that spawn from the newly generated portals. The monsters are extremely tough, using only the new powers that the players can acquire during the course of the game to kill them.
There are also some cool weapon effects, including the "brutally blunt" effect on the weapons as well as the bright green color of the blood that spews out when a player is killed. The various settings and special effects add a great deal to the enjoyment level of this game, but the real fun comes from customizing your character through a very easy to use interface. This allows you to choose your own attributes such as strength, agility, intelligence, stamina, and berserk.
