Battlefront: Halation is a free game mod for Star Wars: Battlefront II that adds a Halo campaign and multiplayer content. There are four new factions, each with different classes and skins. You’ll also find new maps that relate to the Halo universe.
In some ways, Battlefront: Halation also acts as an overhaul of Battlefront II. It adds new sound and visual elements while there are improvements in some gameplay mechanics. If you prefer to retain games that use the ‘force’, you can try games like Star Wars Empire at War, Star Wars: The Old Republic and Star Wars Battlefront I.
Bringing Halo to the Star Wars universe
Star Wars: Battlefront II is an exceptional game that brought a new campaign mode attached to a massively multiplayer arena. The Battlefront: Halation mod builds on that foundation but adds Halo campaigns and multiplayer elements. Imagine the same type of gameplay, but with Halo heroes and skins.
The campaign focuses on the UNSC vs The Covenant story, while multiplayer introduces the Red Spartans vs Blue Spartans mode. It’s fascinating how the developer managed to marry the two gaming worlds so well. While the game is free, players can donate towards future maps and campaigns.
New units, classes and maps
To install Battlefront: Halation mod, simply download the zip folder and add it to the mod folder. You may need a mod client to run the modifications. When you get it right, you’ll see new Halo maps, units and classes to take to the battlefield. The main menu also lets you choose between campaign and multiplayer modes.
Updated sounds and visuals
The sounds and visuals are different, as it has to suit the Halo universe. There’s a new HUD to cover all the aspects needed during battles, changed from the original Star Wars: Battlefront II. The new map and class skins also have few upgrades from the inspired Halo games.
