Video Booth
Video Booth is a great little application if you like to edit your own video for fun. It gives you the ability to take snapshots and video clips both quickly and with minimal fuss. Not only can you take snapshots and video but Video Booth also has a small array of effects, so you can customize your photos and videos as you see fit. The interface of Video Booth has the look and basic operations of a standard digital camera. The icons are located at the bottom left of the display, which allow you to switch from still photos to video, and then you can add effects to your photos and videos as you see fit. Video Booth also makes it easy to upload photos and videos to video media sites such as YouTube, or social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Overall Video Booth is a relatively small application that is fairly lightweight and easy to use, thanks to it's standard interface. If you enjoy editing video and having a play around with some effects, then give Video Booth a try.

SMPlayer is a front-end for the mighty open source MPlayer. It comprises basic features like playing videos, DVDs, and VCDs to more advanced features like support for MPlayer filters and more. One of the most interesting features of SMPlayer: it remembers the settings of all files you play. So you start to watch a movie but you have to leave... don't worry, when you open that movie again it will resume at the same point you left it, and with the same settings: audio track, subtitles, volume... But there are even more interesting features: Configurable subtitles. You can choose font and size, and even colors for the subtitles. Audio track switching. You can choose the audio track you want to listen. Works with avi and mkv. And of course with DVDs. Seeking by mouse wheel. You can use your mouse wheel to go forward or backward in the video. Video equalizer, allows you to adjust the brightness, contrast, hue, saturation and gamma of the video image. Multiple speed playback. You can play at 2X, 4X... and even in slow motion. Filters. Several filters are available: deinterlace, postprocessing, denoise... and even a karaoke filter (voice removal). Audio and subtitles delay adjustment. Allows you to sync audio and subtitles. Advanced options, such as selecting a demuxer or video & audio codecs. Playlist. Allows you to enqueue several files to be played one after each other. Autorepeat and shuffle supported too. Preferences dialog. You can easily configure every option of SMPlayer by using a nice preferences dialog. Possibility to search automatically for subtitles in opensubtitles.org. Translations: currently SMPlayer is translated into more than 20 languages, including Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese.... A little bonus tool in the SMPlayer package is the "YouTube(TM) Browser for SMPlayer" providing you with a quick access to the most popular, most viewed and most rated videos on YouTube.

Resizing images, especially lots of them, can be a laborious exercise! Wouldn’t it be great if someone created an app that can make the job easier? GloryLogic have come up with such an app! Image Tuner Free is able to perform batch resizing, conversions, renaming and watermarking on your images, quickly and easily. The app has been designed with simplicity in mind. It is a small, lightweight app that has a simple interface, which is uncluttered and easy to use. Image Tuner Free supports drag-and-drop functionality, so all your images, or folders containing them, can be dragged into the left pane, and then can be previewed by highlighting them. As soon as you have selected all the images you need, simply choose the output options in the right pane. If you do get stuck, it comes with a built-in Help file that will cover any questions you may have. The app comes with a number of resizing profiles for popular social media websites such as Facebook or devices such as Apple’s iPhone. You can also set sizes for your images, if you wish. Image Tuner Free supports conversion to .JPG, .PNG, .BMP, .GIF or .TIF, and you can choose the quality of the image conversion you require as well. Overall, Image Tuner Free is a really neat little app that can perform a number of image manipulation tasks. The only downside we could find, is that it doesn't appear to have any algorithms for enlarging pictures whilst maintaining high quality. That having been said, the number of other features outweighs any tools that are lacking in this free software. With batch conversion support and the ability to add and edit watermarks, Image Tuner Free is a great app to have for those tedious re-sizing jobs.
