Windows XP Service Pack 3 - Installation and Uninstallation
As many users know, Windows XP Service Pack 2 is a highly-intrusive system application that installs many new and upgraded features over the previous Windows XP Service Pack 1. Installing Windows XP Service Pack 2 is simple - launch Windows Update, either via the Windows Update button on your desktop, or by visiting Windows Update on the internet. If you have been prompted to upgrade by Windows XP Service Pack 1, at this point you may be able to manually select and install Windows XP Service Pack 2. Otherwise, you should utilize an automatic Windows XP Service Pack 2 download and install it; downloading an automatic Windows XP Service Pack 2 is recommended as it will fix any problems that may be causing your current setup to not be running as smoothly as when you initially installed Windows XP Service Pack 1.
Launch the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Start Menu. At the Start Menu, launch Control Panel. At the Control Panel window, click "Programs". In the left pane of the Control Panel window, right-click Windows XP Service Pack 2. Click the "install" button.
Once Windows XP Service Pack 2 has been successfully installed, launch your computer and use it like you did previously. When prompted, launch Windows XP Service Pack 3. If your computer prompts you to update your operating system, do so. If not (some early model computers may not be equipped with the necessary hardware to support Windows XP Service Pack 2), simply continue with the automatic Windows XP Service Pack 2 download. The automatic downloads are quite reliable and very easy to use. If you encounter any trouble downloading or installing Windows XP SP3, you can contact a professional Microsoft support service or visit the Microsoft website and download the latest version of Windows XP Service Pack 3.
