Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is a skateboarding game developed by Neversoft and released by Activision. It is the sequel to the first installment of the Tony Hawk series of extreme sports games and has been released for the PlayStation 2 in 2021, with additional ports for Microsoft Windows, Game Cube, and Nintendo DS the following year. This game is quite different from the other installments of the franchise; it takes elements from other similar games as well as combines them into a new and innovative package. Some of the elements in the game are quite similar to those found in other Tony Hawk games like Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam. It also includes some elements of the Tony Hawk series of games but improves upon them in several ways.
In its single-player mode, the game allows you to select various elements of the skateboard park in which your character will perform stunts and land tricks on. There are various modes available as well including "story" mode, "regular" mode, "street" mode, and "cooperative" mode. Each of these modes can be played in split-screen fashion, online co-op mode, or versus mode. In versus mode, two-player versions are pitted against each other and the objective is simply to score the most points.
In single session mode, you are given a specific amount of time to complete various tasks without falling. Each task can be completed either by skating or jumping. This mode is quite fun as you get to explore the world of Tony Hawk and do some trick jumps that look a lot like some of the famous skaters. In the online co-op mode, two or more people can join your cause and attempt to complete the challenges with you. Korean versions were not released in North America or Europe but due to the popularity of the game and the fact that Korean gamers tend to be very choosy about which skateboard game they choose to play, many were forced to give the skaters an opportunity at being featured on-screen.
