PDF Explorer is a powerful PDF viewer/editor, which is available as a freeware for Windows & Linux. Its main function is to read, edit, and create PDF files. This application is very much like the popular Wayland browser which allows the user to view PDF files on a Linux system, or any other platforms that support the Win API. With PDF-Shell, PDF files can be viewed in Windows Mobile devices, Windows Explorer, and many other applications that are Windows-native.
Easy PDF Explorer features a simple and user-friendly interface, which lets you quickly select one or several PDF files at a time. This then saves PDF files on your computer or other portable storage devices. Besides viewing PDFs, this tool is also able to extract images from PDF files and edit them, among other things. You can even merge PDFs and extract images while using this convenient tool.
Although PDF-Explorer is very similar to its competitor, Acrobat Reader, it does have some unique features that make it a good tool for users who prefer to use an editor that is more desktop-oriented. Unlike the PDF viewer, PDF-Explorer offers several different ways to open PDF files such as opening them directly in Windows Explorer, loading them into Windows Presentation Manager, and saving them into a different file type, among others. Furthermore, this application supports the Portable Document Format as well as the HTML5 format for opening and editing. One of the best features of PDF-Explorer is its ability to extract images from PDF files. You can also use it to extract video from almost any format, as well as to add text boxes and drop down menus to form complex PDFs. For advanced users, there is the ability to password protect PDF files and create an index for search functionality.
