Firefall is a multi-faceted massively multi-player online role-playing (RPG) video game based from the makers of Linea I and II: The Awakening. With an overall story line that traces its roots back to the ancient mythology of the World of Warcraft franchise, players take on the roll of an epic avatar and set out on quests to find out more about the world and its mysterious lore. You will find yourself trekking through a vast and dangerous post-apocalyptic world, seeking out your destiny, your reason for being here and why you were chosen by the gods to stand with them. There are many characters to meet and interact with, many of which come with their own special traits, abilities and weapons as well. You will also find yourself struggling against the ever-growing hordes of Orcs, Trolls, Undead and other brutal creatures as you try to forge an ever strong and united kingdom for mankind.
Initially, Firefall was a sci-fi free-for-all massive multiplayer online role-playing (MMORPG) video game released and developed by Red 5 Studios in early 2021. Announced at that time, the game quickly entered closed alpha and closed beta testing, where it received critical acclaim and went through several major content patches before it finally emerged as one of the biggest upcoming MMOs of its type. Red 5 Studios managed to build upon the original concept and delivered what was then clearly meant to be a ground breaking massively multiplayer online role playing (MMORPG) game. At the time of writing this article, Firefall has only been in closed beta for a few weeks but already the positive reviews are pouring in, and so much of the hype is likely to be true.
So where does it look for a future for Firefall? The success of this latest massively multiplayer online role playing (MMORPG) game, with over one million registered users, is a good indicator that there is still much scope for future growth in this genre, and there is no doubt that the Firefall video game will continue to grow in popularity for months to come. What do you think about the future of Firefall and Blizzard Entertainment's first foray into the massively multiplayer online arena?
