Ferrari Virtual Race - A Review
Ferrari Virtual Race is an incredibly realistic 3D driving game, based on the life-size experience of Formula One racing champion Sebastian Vettel. The game enables you to take control of your very own Formula One car and take it on the track to try and win some races for the championship. As you progress through the game, your car will develop new capabilities and handling traits, whilst also getting better engine speed and overall speed. This will of course help you progress through the championship, but you will also have to complete challenges and missions, all with the aim of becoming the best F1 driver around. As you level up, you will be given new car upgrades too, such as getting additional engines and race strategies to boost your success.
Ferrari Virtual Race features all of the features of the full version of the Ferrari simulator, such as track layout and road surfaces, weather conditions and the pit stop and race restart sequence in all of its glory. In addition to all of this, the game developed by Ferrari for PC is compatible with multiple input devices, including Xbox, Play Station 3 and X-Box. You can race your way to the top of the championship in many different game modes and the track you drive on is constantly changing, with new shortcuts and bends being introduced. You will be racing against other players as well as the computer, and in all modes there are many different options to choose from. It can be a challenge, but with some time and patience you could quite easily reach the top spot. However, to get there you will need to build up your career, as there are currently no achievements in this game.
The game has been developed by the Italian development house, Ferrari Digital, and was published by Sega via their Sega Saturn game console. The game was released for the PlayStation 2 in Japan and for the PC in North America, but the release was delayed considerably due to technical difficulties. The game is not exactly an "off brand", as it is very much based on the real life formula that is Ferrari Racing, which is the most popular and successful competitive motor sport in the world. This game developer managed to create an incredibly lifelike driving experience using the most advance graphics technology that is currently available, which have not really been seen since the golden age of arcade driving games. If you enjoy speed and adrenaline then this is definitely the game for you.
