UNetbootin for Mac allows you to create bootable Live USB drives for Ubuntu, Fedora, and other Linux distributions without burning a CD. The application is cross-platform and is available for Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows. You can either let UNetbootin download one of the many distributions supported out-of-the-box for you, or supply your own Linux .ISO file.
Built-in support for automatically downloading and loading the following distributions:
- Ubuntu (and official derivatives).
- Linux Mint.
- openSUSE.
- Arch Linux.
- Debian.
UNetbootin for Mac loads distributions either by downloading a ISO (CD image) files for you, or by using a .ISO file you've already downloaded. Simply select an .ISO file or a distribution to download, select a target drive (USB Drive or Hard Disk), then reboot once it has completed.
If you used the "USB Drive" install mode: After rebooting, boot from the USB drive. Note that Live USB drives are bootable only on PCs (not on Macs).
