Free video streaming app

YT Vanced is a free streaming app that performs the same functions as YouTube, but without the ads and other interruptions. Much like TubeMate and Ultimate Video Downloader, you can watch videos and listen to music at your leisure. There are also theme settings, such as changing to dark mode or controlling the volume and brightness.
Unfortunately, the official YT Vanced app has been discontinued by the developer and is no longer available on Android and iOS app stores. You can still download older versions of the app, but you won’t receive any updates. Even the website is riddled with clickbait and no app download option.
What is YT Vanced?
The original YT Vanced app was used to steaming YouTube videos without any adverts or annoying interruptions. It had a code to bypass the commercials to watch videos and listen to music without ads appearing. That’s the number one reason the developer had to discontinue the app. Still, there are versions of it you can download that still work to some degree.
Is Vanced available for Android?
The availability of YT Vanced for Android depends on where you download it from. Some sites still offer the older versions before it was discontinued, letting you enjoy video streaming with various themes and settings. However, the official version is no longer available.
Why Vanced is discontinued?
Google owns the YouTube platform and uses the adverts for monetisation, helping the company and content creators make money. YT Vanced bypassed this system, which effectively meant that the developer was indirectly stealing money from Google and its creators. The company issued a cease and desist letter, which caused the developer to discontinue YT Vanced.
Still available, but discontinued
YT Vanced is still available in some circles, but you’ll have the older version without updates or support. Depending on which version you install, some features may no longer be available.
Using YT Vanced over more reputable YouTube downloaders or streamers is not advisable, but the option is there if you feel the need to test it out. Just stay away from the website, which tends to redirect to click-bait sites when you click on anything.
