Free cloud storage for Xiaomi devices

The Xiaomi Cloud app for Android provides an easy, secure way to store and transfer your data between your Xiaomi devices for free. You can take advantage of Xiaomi's cloud storage solution to back up your data, contacts, texts, and settings. Whether it's for day-to-day use or to quickly set up a new device, Xiaomi Cloud makes it simple.
If you're invested in the Xiaomi ecosystem, the Xiaomi Cloud app is an intuitive way of accessing your data wherever you are and whatever kind of device you own. For data storage and sharing, Titanium Backup and ShareMe are alternatives that are worth considering.
Storage capacity
When you set up your new Xiaomi account, you receive 5GB of storage for free. However, with smartphone cameras getting better, all those beautiful photographs are taking up additional storage. In that context, it's easy to see that 5GB aren't going to last long.
If you need more storage space, you can buy an additional 20GB. As you go through the buying process, you can choose a 3, 6 or 12-month subscription. You'll also be able to choose which data you synchronise with the cloud such as contacts, messages and photos.
Sharing content
Xiaomi Cloud makes it incredibly easy to share photographs with friends and family. No matter what platform or browser they use, all they need is an internet connection. You can send them a special link to your photo album in a message, or they can simply scan the QR code on your phone. They can then access them from all connected devices.
Once you've shared an album, everybody can add photos to it, which is a lot more convenient than receiving them in a variety of emails, SMS and messaging apps.
Transferring data
If you need to set up a new Xiaomi phone, Xiaomi Cloud makes it fast and straightforward. Just connect your new device to the internet, log in to your Mi Account, and you'll be able to sync your contacts, texts, settings and content.
Store your data
The Xiaomi Cloud Android app is exceptionally convenient if you have a Mi device. If you need to transfer your contacts, texts, settings and content and manage your data from anywhere, it's definitely worth installing the app and subscribing to the additional cloud storage.
However, our main criticism is that 5GB of storage is barely enough even for the most casual user.
