Working With Ecto
Ecto is a free, open-source backend for a variety of web applications, written in Java, Perl, Python, C, and Pearl. With ecto you could easily write and manage content for your blog(s), even offline. The major advantage over utilizing your web browser's control panel for your weblogs is that with ecto you are able to easily write and post entries, even offline, using the many features ecto offers. It provides an interface that closely matches those of popular blogging software like WordPress and Joomla, with a simple and easy-to-use interface.
Ecto gives you all the tools you need for managing your blog(s) in a very organized manner. You would simply select the type of entry you want to create or edit and then choose the tools you need from a wide list. When you find the item you want, you click on the "New Entry" link that is displayed next to the column displaying the word or phrase you entered. You see your entry displayed in a editor window that resembles what you would expect to find in any word processing application. The next step is to add an image or a video to your entry, next to the text. If you don't like how the picture looks, you could change it; ecto displays several pre-designed images and videos.
Once you've added these items, you are able to either save the draft that you are working on, or view and edit the draft on the screen. As you complete each draft, you are asked to sign-in, if you do not have an account on the Ecto server yet, you will be prompted to create one. Once you have signed in, you are able to see all of your published posts, drafts, comments, and anything else you may be interested in viewing. All of the information is saved in your local area so that you don't need to worry about travelling to the site for information.
