First-person shooter based on the Black Hawk Down incident
Delta Force: Black Hawk Down Official is a game based on the 1993 incident when the United States launched dual military operations in Mogadishu Somalia and a Black Hawk was shot down in hostile territory and the military unit had to fight their way out of the situation. There was a movie based on this incident. It is a similar FPS to games like Call of Duty.
Engage in close quarters gun battles as you take down mission objectives within the warzone. The close combat with hostiles in Delta Force is similar in practice to the combat in Left 4 Dead.
How do you play Delta Force Black Hawk Down?
It is a simple point-and-shoot FPS game against AI-controlled enemies. You are given objectives within each mission that you are tasked with completing. You can give commands to other characters in the game, such as telling them to throw grenades, hold their position, and hold fire.
The game is pretty old, which means demands on your processor and RAM will be small when compared to modern games. As a result, there are various ports of this game, which means you can play it on numerous types of platform, though it is easiest to play it on a PC or laptop.
Is Delta Force: Black Hawk Down Official a movie tie-in?
No, this is a stand-alone war game that simply frames its events around the Black Hawk Down incident, which is also what the movie of the same name did.
Is the game still good?
Though no doubt a good FPS shooter in its day, Delta Force: Black Hawk Down Official doesn't have the modern gameplay innovations that we are all accustomed to. As a result, it comes across as dated and a little generic.
Where it shines is through the fact it is a brightly lit and story-driven shooting game. Sadly, its character design is ugly due to the limitations of the time when it was created, and the controls are clunky, which damages the user experience when playing the game.
