CDBurnerXP Portable is merely the portable version of CDBurnerXP, which is also a freeware program to burn CDs and DVDs, including both Blu-ray and HD-DVD movies. It also comes with a multilayered interface, and the capability to burn and produce ISOs. However, unlike other versions of CDBurner, XP is missing certain features that may be used to create high quality backups.
For example, there is no support for folders in Windows. This means you cannot create custom folders on the program while it is running. Similarly, Windows Vista is not compatible with the program's "ffmpeg". This means you cannot freely use the Movie Wizard or the Create DVD Wizard. On the other hand, the program has been designed to work with the Windows operating system only. This means that the features which it can offer are limited to the applications that are compatible with the Windows version.
Despite these setbacks, CDBurnerXP Portable still provides a good backup solution, thanks to its innovative features such as the creation of bootable iso images. The program also offers the ability to convert raw data into rar files. It is an ideal program for creating audio cds and video iso images. Moreover, the program is able to rip music and movies, as well as to edit video and audio tracks. To date, this version of CDBurner remains the best choice for burning audio cds and videos.
