Multi Skype Launcher is a nice free tool which enables you to run multiple Skype accounts on one PC simultaneously. However, as alluded to at the start of this article, there are many workarounds to the various versions of Windows, and using them is not really useful. In particular, on Windows Vista, there is a security measure called Windows Vista Firewall which prohibits running several programs at once, including the Skype application. This means that to use MultiSkype, you will first need to become able to use Skype on Vista... then log into your account on another PC, at which point you can continue using Multi Skype to chat with friends and family. However, it's still a very simple to use application which does work on Windows Vista.
MultiSkype utilizes a configuration panel to enable you to have multiple Skype accounts on your PC. You first need to download the MultiSkype installer, and then run it from the installation directory. The application will then search for any relevant settings and information and prompt you to enter your login details for each of the accounts you want to create. Once you have done so, the MultiSkype application will then allow you to choose an application icon and name for each of the accounts. Once you have chosen an icon, the application will then prompt you to select a port number and network settings, allowing you to connect to up to five multiple account configurations.
The configuration panel allows you to customize the various account logos, as well as other features such as whether you want to use a red background on each of the accounts, how often the tile will rotate, the transparency of the tile, the image that is displayed when you click on the tile, and many other options. The process is extremely easy, and you should find that it's a very fast and simple way to set up a number of Multi Skype accounts. It's also a good idea to set up one of these accounts if you are going to be using MultiSkype in a professional capacity. For instance, if you are a consultant or a teacher, you can set up a number of training accounts that enable you to reach your students and/or peers via an Internet connection and so on.
