Multi-Banding Wireless Device Interface For Connecting Multiple Devices With Smart-Connect Technology
Smart-Connect is the intelligent integration of two or more communication systems, namely Wifi and Bluetooth. With a single Wifi enabled mobile, it allows you to send and receive information from an Existing Wifi Network or from Existing Bluetooth Smart Devices. Smart-Connect looks for compatible wireless devices that support Smart application programming interfaces and loads them automatically into memory. Since the information passed through the air waves needs to be processed efficiently by GPS hardware and software, smart-connect also provides the necessary data signals required for this. This enables the performance of multi-tasking applications such as weather widgets, maps, news, blogs, games and much more, in the form of user-defined activities that are automatically managed by the GPS based android brain.
The technology used is the ATA over Ethernet (AoE) technology, which is found on many networking devices such as printers, scanners, USB drives and net cameras etc. On the contrary, Smart-Connect utilizes two independent wifi bands namely, CDMA and UMTS. The aim behind both the techniques is to handle large amounts of data with small bandwidths. The reason behind the dual-band approach is to handle more than one device simultaneously and still achieve low power consumption. A typical scenario would be to have a laptop connected via usb wifi band 2 and a smartphone connected via the same band using Smart-Connect.
The technology is still in its early stages but promises to provide users with a secure, convenient and intelligent device which can be customized to run any application desired. The current version of the software supports only CDMA Smartphones and CDMA/ UMTS Smartphones. The intention is to use the device as a web cam and audio/video receiver and all other device access is via internet and Bluetooth. Hence we can say that this innovative technology is not just a device but a platform that can be customized, personalized and are future-proofed so as to work on multiple tasks and provide intelligent functionality.
