Fostering Apocalypse by Incisor Studios is a side-scrolling horror game where you face demons in a post-apocalyptic world. Like Metamorphosis and Opossum Country, it has a detailed story coated in retro graphics that will appeal to most gamers. It’s a survival title with short gameplay, delivering two endings based on how you play.
When you find a demon in child form, the plot twists and things change. You search local towns and settings, interacting with some items to progress the tale further. While there are basic effects, it performs well in contrast to the dark themes.
Welcome to the apocalypse
The game plunges you into a world destroyed by demons. While it’s been peaceful for a few years, it appears as if someone is summoning the dark beasts again. Your character, Del, sets off to investigate; this is where you take control of the story.
Interact with items
Along the way, you can climb out of your vehicle and interact with objects. There are also scenes where you need to press keys in a certain order to open bags or items. While most of the mechanics in Fostering Apocalypse feature side-scrolling mechanics, there are also plenty of puzzle elements.
Graphics and sound
If you’re a fan of retro art in games, Fostering Apocalypse won’t disappoint. It mixes some realistic images with old visuals, which seems to match the survival horror theme. There’s also a decent soundtrack in the game to accompany you while you play.

Fostering Apocalypse is an incredible tale that won’t take you long to complete. It places an interesting twist where you may end up saving the supposed enemy. While it has retro graphics, the horror settings suit it well, and you’ll enjoy solving the puzzles while trying to complete the game.
