eFootball 2022 is a free mobile soccer sensation from the world-renowned gaming developer Konami. This is Konami’s latest addition to its sporting series and features the same intense action and exciting football gameplay that its predecessor was known for. Build your dream team and lead them to victory in this all-new football simulation game.
There’s a playful but competitive rivalry between Konami’s eFootball 2022 and Electronic Arts’ FIFA Soccer mobile football simulator. The apps are, however equally matched in many ways. Both provide exciting gameplay, a healthy dose of friendly competition in the form of multiplayer modes, and high-stakes one-on-one duels. If you’re looking for another alternative, look no further than Konami’s own PES 2017.
PES is one of the most popular football simulation titles and another football-based gaming series by Konami. As the successor to the critically-acclaimed PES mobile football series, you can expect the same riveting gameplay wrapped up in an even more visually appealing and user-friendly package. The reason this game offers significant advantages over the former series is that it was created in Unreal engine instead of the Fox engine that Konami used before. Unreal provides greater fluidity in terms of the level of detail and actual gameplay setup.
The one aspect that has been carried over from the PES series, is the fact that eFootball 2022 has limited licenses in terms of player and club availability. This means that while you can, for instance, play with FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid and all their genuine associated players, you cannot do the same with Malaga CF or Real Madrid. If you want a fuller roster of players and available teams and clubs, games within the FIFA series would be a better bet.
One thing that might make eFootball 2022 a slightly less than perfect choice is that gameplay within this particular game is a little slower-paced than in other titles within the mobile football simulator genre. Moreover, eFootball 2022 is rather heavily reliant on faster internet speeds, rendering it impossible to play on slower networks such as those usually encountered in public spaces.
Decent, but not perfect
Unfortunately, even though eFootball 2022 comes from one of the most well-known gaming development houses and takes the place of one of the most popular mobile football franchises, it doesn’t quite stack up to the competition. If compared to Konami’s previous offerings and the games, it replaces, however, this is the better choice and an all-around better-designed and executed mobile football simulation game.
