Sound Studio is an easy-to-use yet powerful application for recording and editing audio on your Mac. It's ideal for digitizing tapes and vinyl records, recording live performances, creating mixes with crossfades, tweaking levels and EQ settings, applying digital effects, and saving the results in most major file formats. Whether you're a music enthusiast or need to record and edit lectures, sermons, or radio broadcasts, Sound Studio has you covered.
One of the standout features of Sound Studio is its ability to layer sounds with multiple tracks and apply 24 different special effects, including fun ones like "monkey noises." You can also edit metadata for iTunes, making it easy to organize and categorize your audio files.
However, there are a couple of drawbacks to be aware of. Sound Studio does not save recordings in MP3 format without an external framework, so you'll have to save them in alternative formats like AAC, AIFF, or WAV and then convert them later. Additionally, there is no way to save EQ settings, which can be frustrating if you need to make multiple recordings with the same noise levels.
Despite these limitations, Sound Studio is a simple and feature-filled application for recording and editing your audio. It offers a range of editing features, is great for recording vinyl and lectures, and saves to most major formats.
