QuikGrid - Scalable and Easy to Use Software Tool
QuikGrid is a program that will read in an assortment of scattered data points (y, x, and z) that represents a flat surface. The program then creates a grid out of this data and either display the flat surface as a simple contour, or as an intricate 3d representation. The left mouse button can be used to zoom around the entire display or just part of it. To switch between viewing the data as an image or a complex grid, you can simply click on the "mode" icon that's next to the words "plot" or "analysis".
This software has a feature that allows you to align and place your Quikgrid points on a particular scale. This feature can be found in the "axis properties" control panel. It makes it very easy to create a custom-made grid in accordance with the data points' sizes and dimensions. This is a useful feature to consider and makes quikgrid especially useful if you need to make plots over a large number of data points.
In conclusion, my experience with QuikGrid has been a positive one so far. It's nice to have a graphing program that is simple to use and doesn't require too much configuration of the desktop PC. You can also easily create and manage your own quik grids with the help of the various add on tools that come with the program. Although my luck grid program doesn't perform as well as some of the more sophisticated ones, I find that it is still a useful tool for brainstorming ideas, carrying out exploratory analysis, plotting scatter plots, and analyzing large numbers of data points.
