Blender (Mac)

Blender is a free and open source 3D graphics suite. Originally created by Ton Roosendaal, Blender is developed by a community of artists and designers. Despite being an open source project, Blender offers a wide range of features that can compete with professional graphic software.

Availability

Blender is supported in the three major operating systems: Windows, Mac, and Linux. However, it requires at least Windows 7 for Windows users. No installation is required to launch Blender as it is completely portable. Blender can be run on machines with at least 4GB of memory, 2GHz processing power, and a graphics card with 1GB RAM, but higher specs are recommended to run Blender smoothly.

Features

In addition to its powerful modelling tools, Blender also comes with a built-in path-tracer rendering engine known as Cycles for faster and more realistic rendering.

Blender also has its own animation tools and game engine. With Blender, users can create their own animated films directly from the suite. It can also be used to code games and export models to other game engines.

Users can also do post-processing in Blender with its VFX and Simulation tools, as Blender comes with a built-in compositor and camera and object trackers. Users can also add particles, smoke, fire, and hair for a more immersive simulation.

By Artists, For Artists

Blender has all the tools any artist or animator needs to create a 3D graphics. First-time users may find it difficult to understand and use at first, but it's certainly one of the least complicated design software out there.
