AlterEgo for Mac

AlterEgo is a program developed by Gravityapps that offers 36 new visual effects for Mac's PhotoBooth and iChat. It seamlessly integrates with these applications, allowing users to instantly enhance their photos and video chats with a variety of effects.

PhotoBooth is known for its cool effects, but after using them repeatedly, the novelty can wear off. AlterEgo aims to provide continued fun and excitement by offering additional effects beyond the default ones. However, in the trial version, users only have access to 6 free effects, with the remaining ones requiring a purchase. Unfortunately, these initial free effects do not offer anything radically different from the effects already available in PhotoBooth.

The available effects in AlterEgo, both free and paid, are not particularly impressive. The online gallery showcases some more original effects, but they may not be worth the upgrade for most users. Unless you are a dedicated PhotoBooth enthusiast, AlterEgo may not offer many exciting new effects to enhance your iSight experience.

With the latest update, AlterEgo now supports Snow Leopard and includes performance and stability improvements.
