Tile-matching puzzle game
Zuma is a puzzle game where you must match three to four balls of the same color. To do this, you will need to shoot a ball from the frog-shaped cannonball towards the balls that match its colors. You will advance to the next level when you’ve eliminated all the balls on the track. Should a ball touch the center of the track, a life will be taken from you. You are only allowed to do this three times. By the fourth time, the game will end and you will need to repeat the same level.
The goal of Zuma is to eliminate all the balls that are on a single-laned, spiral track. You can eliminate as many balls as you can by firing the ball from the cannon towards a group of balls of the same color. For example, three red balls are already on the track and you are lucky to have a red ball inside the cannon. Spin its mouth towards the balls so it will form a set of four. It will automatically disappear once the game detects a match.
Gameplay
Balls can also disappear through a domino effect. This means a new set of balls will match because you have eliminated all the balls that were blocking them. While pairing balls is the primary way to win, there are special balls that make this process easier. Also known as power-ups, these are balls that only need to be activated. The backwards ball pushes the outermost ball back up, while the slow-down ball stalls all the balls so they avoid the golden skull.
The first two powerups keep you from losing lives, while the next two helps you take down more balls. The accuracy ball helps you shoot better, while the explosion ball removes nearby by balls. This includes balls without a match. You will receive bonus points for causing several groups to explode consecutively. More points will be granted to you if you’re able to complete a level in record time. Depending on the difficulty level, this can range between thirty seconds to four minutes.
System Requirements
Zuma contains two modes and twenty levels packaged in three-dimensional accelerated graphics and effects. Originally, Zuma is compatible with older versions of the Windows operating system, namely: Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. It is now available on Windows 7 and Windows 8.
In addition to the OS, you will also need 128 MB of RAM, a 500 MHz processor, and a DirectX 7.0 installed in your computer before downloading this game. This makes Zuma a lightweight game that you can install on most consumer-level computers.
Fun matching game for all players
Zuma is a suitable game for players that want a straightforward and easy-to-follow game. At the same time, the game is challenging for players of all-user levels as there are limited controls and space to achieve the game’s objectives. The 3D graphics and effects enhance the game’s overall experience, yet it is still easy for your computer to process.
