In the video game, the player controls a group of historically-minded characters whose aim is to stop the enemies of the crown from toppling the throne and putting a puppet government into power. The game contains a non-stop campaign, where each level is designed to test the player's strategic skills, using different tactics and weapons (such as the halberd and the same). It also contains a number of achievements and bonus points to encourage players to replay the levels to get higher scores. The game is compatible with various gaming devices, including the Nintendo Wii, Xbox, Play Station Portable, PSP and Nintendo DS.
In addition to the game's high quality graphics, the Three Musketeers offers interesting game-play as well, including interesting settings like the winter village and the icy wastes of the North Sea. The Wii version allows users to take control of their characters through the Wii remote, although it has been widely reported that the wetware version does not allow the players to take control of the characters at all during certain portions of the game's campaign. The wetware does allow the players to use the Wii remote's buttons to maneuver the musketeers on the screen. Some of the more exciting features of the game include the ability to view the game on a virtual television set similar to what is seen in many movie theaters. You can even surf the internet on some wiiware versions of the game.
