Connect with the Team on TeamSpeak

TeamSpeak is a cloud-based software that enables audio calling through the internet. TeamSpeak allows you to speak to multiple connections and is a professional software with high-quality video connections, and lets users speak with multiple connections in a group conference or individually. The program is a sophisticated web-based VOIP calling tool, that is ideal for professional conferences.

What is Team Speak, and how do you use it?

TeamSpeak is a high-quality voice over the internet program, which is an easy way to conduct voice calls for individual and multiple conferences. A highly secure program, with low resource usage, Team Speak is a good option for professional conferences. The good sound quality allows for seamless conversations and helps in hassle-free discussions, without getting buffered or stuck. It is compatible with Windows, iOS, and Linus.

What are the main features?

Some of the main features of TeamSpeak are the address book for handy management of multiple Team Speak servers, which act as a host to multiple client connections. A unique feature of TeamSpeak is that users can create multiple channels and sub-channels users, and can proceed to moderate channels when controlling large group meetings.

Another interesting feature is the Whisper functions, so one can speak privately to individuals or a group of people, or users in other channels. The entire functionality of TeamSpeak is flexible and more autonomous, and there are various features that allow for more specific conversations.

One can also become a TeamSpeak member. Added features on the TeamSpeak membership program, it is easier to sync serves and easy to set up the program across several devices. There are around 100 add-ons, skins, and voice packs, that enable you to customize the interface according to your preferences. One can also get early access to the latest features and exclusive TeamSpeak offers.

What are the benefits of using TeamSpeak?

The sound quality of TeamSpeak is worth mentioning. It is clear, high-quality, and pretty seamless in its functionality. An automatic microphone volume that is integrated into the program, and helps reduce background noise and does and echo cancellation. Privacy is a high priority for TeamSpeak and the program does not gather data from text or chat, and there is no sign-up required.

TeamSpeak also has a high focus on security standards and has AES-based encryption for the entire server. The advanced permissions systems are in place to allow who can be included in the call and who cannot. The group calls can only be entered with permissions from the host, protecting the calls from breaches and hacking. TeamSpeak is also a great program to be used by gamers on multi-player games. Gaming is easy with TeamSpeak, with the in-game overlay from Overwolf. Sending or receiving messaging and notifications and accessing voice controls is a big plus for gamers.

Customization is also an advantage for TeamSpeak. The interface can be customized with skins and themes, making the experience even more interesting. You can have scalability, where you can scale up from small conversations to large group chats, making it easy to add users to a conference. The unlimited file transfer is a great feature for seamless collaboration and shares files within the community without firewall issues.

What are the negatives of TeamSpeak?

The biggest disadvantage of TeamSpeak is that it doesn’t have a video feature, which is easily available on other VOIP programs like Zoom or Google Talk, or even WhatsApp. A complete voice system, that does not support video seems incomplete and while it supports audio, and that seems off. Another big disadvantage with TeamSpeak is that it is not frequently used or known, so fewer people are versed with the functionality of using it. So, people are generally averse to using this for voice conferences and would rather go with more popular programs like Zoom or Google Talk or Microsoft Teams. The functionality of TeamSpeak is really professional, but not for casual conversations with friends or family.

What are the alternatives to TeamSpeak?

While all programs which offer voice calling over the internet (like WhatsApp or GTalk), can compete with TeamSpeak, but from a professional point of view, the alternatives to the software are Ventrilo, Discord, Skype and Mumble. Compared to the other voice programs, TeamSpeak is Spam Free, which Ventrilo offers, but not Discord or Skype. Security and privacy are much higher in TeamSpeak than other competitors.

While Direct Messaging is a feature available to all the competitors, many other features like unlimited file transfer, unlimited sub-channels, game-pad support, fully customizable user interface, offline LAN functionality, multi-grade encryption, and other features which are available on TeamSpeak, but not on most other VOIP programs.

Zoom, which is also a VOIP platform, for multi-user conferences over video or audio. Zoom is preferred for video calling, as TeamSpeak does not support the functionality. However, for a purely functional purpose, like for professional calling or gaming, the quality of TeamSpeak and the interface is better to use.

What’s the final word on TeamSpeak?

TeamSpeak is great for professional voice calling, opening communication channels between various groups and individuals. With a number of customizable features, it is easy to communicate with clients across the world, with voice over the internet. However, it does not support video functionality, with a lot of programs like Google, Skype, Whatsapp offer. Also, unless you are a gamer or need to use VOIP for professional purposes, most people choose to just use the more popular programs. Of course, they have limitations in terms of the number of people on one conference and the ability to moderate better. Zoom is an excellent alternative to TeamSpeak, and even supports video, however for excellent voice quality, TeamSpeak is still better.
