Spin Shift for Windows

Spin Shift is a free platform action game for Windows, developed by Addaline. Your goal is to roll on the floor, walls and ceilings while avoiding obstacles and dangers. With the left and right buttons, you shift into higher gears to go faster and jump further. Other platform games you can try include Braid, ElecHead and Return of the SLIMEPIRES.

While you can play Spin Shift with a keyboard, it’s better with a controller connected to your Windows PC. It helps when you want to shift into higher gears while aiming for platforms and avoiding death. You’ll earn rings along the way that add to your score.

Rolling on platforms

The main objective in Spin Shift is to roll onto any surface with the gear parts on your body to reach the end of various levels. By shifting to higher gears, you’ll be able to reach higher areas. However, heading into the gear’s red zone will cause you to fall. You’ll need to avoid any dangers; otherwise, you’ll die and head back to the beginning of the stage.

Controls and movements

Playing Spin Shift is much easier with a controller. You can easily change directions while using the left and right bumpers to change into higher gears. You’ll need to time it right and click in the same direction, failing which you’ll drop the gear and fall. It’s all about timing and getting the hang of the controls.

Visuals and sound

The visuals of Spin Shift are in 2D with side-scrolling effects. As you proceed in the game, the screen moves with you so you can see what’s coming. In some way, this is like Sonic the Hedgehog in a platform environment where you roll and collect rings on different levels. The sounds are basic with some music to keep you company.

Spin Shift is a fun action game with several levels in a platform environment. While you may die a few times at the start, you’ll soon get the hang of the controls and how to avoid dangers.
