LEAP is a first-person shooter set in a future filled with destructive hardware. From lasers to explosives, you will have a full arsenal to use in an effort to take out your rivals and become the sole survivor of a brutal match to the death. The range of customization options allows you to make the character your own.
With its emphasis on multiplayer combat, the game is comparable to Team Fortress 2 and Overwatch. Players can compete in teams, with up to 10 vs. 10 at a time. However, it is also possible to play a four-person cooperative match.
LEAP takes place in a sci-fi world where the player has access to a range of weapons and gadgets that bring variety to the gameplay. In combat, your main choices are a close-range melee weapon and a sniper gun, each leading to a very different playing experience. You can ride a hoverboard when traveling, switching the game to third-person.
Customization goes deeper than this. The game allows you to choose between five character classes. Each has its own pros and cons. For example, Wraith is suited to stealth and camouflage, while Titan offers grenades and other explosives. You can also make cosmetic customizations, from banners and graffiti to showing national flags or the logos of other games.
The game has a story behind its deathmatches, depicting a futuristic battle between the United Earth Defense Coalition and the rebel forces of the Exo-Terrans. This helps to provide a little color, but multiplayer mayhem remains the main point.
LEAP suffers from some lagging issues, particularly when there are a lot of on-screen enemies present. However, for many players, the wealth of customization options and variety of gameplay modes will make up for such shortcomings.
