Hide: A Free Retro Horror Game
If you enjoyed the horror game "Slender," you should enjoy this retro 3D adventure called "Hide." It's a similar game, but with a very different look and different monsters. Hide was created for an indie competition at Super Friendship Club, with the theme of Justice. The game begins in a dark forest with sirens in the distance and snow falling. Your task is to find five locations, and each time you find one, someone (or something?) will come looking for you.
The controls in Hide are simple, with a basic mouse and keyboard setup to move around. Pressing the Space key allows you to hide (crouch), but you must be careful not to hide in plain sight of your pursuer, or you will be caught. The sound effects in the game are creepy, and the sound of your breathing adds to the tension.
Hide features solid 8-bit retro graphics that may not be to everyone's taste, but they are very atmospheric. The light of your pursuer is especially well done and adds to the nerve-wracking experience.
