Free Any DVD Ripper aims to make your work with DVD copying as easy as possible. It is very similar in concept to the popular Windows Movie Maker application. If you are unfamiliar with Windows Movie Maker, this application will look a lot like it and in fact are very similar in many ways. The only major difference is that Windows Movie Maker is more ideal for creating video clips and this one is designed mainly for burning individual DVD's. When using Amazing-Share to transfer the files, it will also allow you to choose the compression settings so that your video is as good quality as possible. One of the downsides of this program is that it does not support password protection of the video files that may be a slight annoyance, however this is a minor detail.
Based upon the performance of Windows Movie Maker and the superior quality of its video output, it is clear that the Free Any DVD Ripper performs better than the latter. However, the question that remains is whether the software offers the same level of functionality as the latter. Although both are excellent tools that offer the same type of functionality, it is clear that Free Any DVD Ripper has the edge in terms of ease of use as it comes with a visual "point and click" wizard which guides the user through the process of converting the video files. Another major drawback of this tool is the fact that it does not offer the same level of protection as the paid versions of the product which may leave some users open to security risks.
