Game Review: Crysis 2
After saving the new city of New York from the Earthicans (an alien race led by advanced computer network technology), the game proceeds to the next level - the fight against the Earthicans and against the ultimate enemy, the NERF warship. The game once more features a great use of the new technologies and shows that Crysis 2 has a lot more detail than its predecessor. For instance, when the player assumes the role of the NERF commander, the HUD shows the location of every enemy and human in sight, and the map is zoomed in so that the player can see everything clearly. In this way, Crysis 2 presents a much more visually exciting game, with better graphics and effects. However, some fans have criticized the lack of diversity in the characters, stating that the player assumes the role of a 'white' character in most missions and thus lacks diversity when interacting with the various people of the world.
As mentioned above, the new pantsuit system is the major part of Crysis 2. The pantsuit is primarily used as a protection mechanism against alien attack, although the Nuka mines are also used for this purpose. It is possible to aim and shoot at the enemies using the laser aiming device, or to throw the Nuka mines at a specific location to cause an explosion. This technology has a wide range of uses, including sniping an enemy, or planting the mines at a strategic location for maximum destruction. The new cities also provide a new environment to fight in, providing better opportunities for building up a base or defending the new city from an impending invasion.
