The Surakshita app by Rajkot City Police is a robust solution dedicated to enhancing safety for women. Tailored for female users, this intuitive app aids in averting potential risks and uncertainties. Divided into two key sections, Help and Track Ride, Surakshita offers indispensable features to ensure personal safety and security.
The Help feature prominently features a red distress button. When activated during emergencies, this button dispatches distress signals to three pre-assigned contacts from the user's circle, along with real-time location details. Simultaneously, the app notifies the police control room for swift assistance. Moreover, it tracks the user's location for 30 minutes, providing vital information for prompt aid.
The Track Ride functionality targets individuals utilizing auto-rickshaws or cabs. Users can input the vehicle number, cross-referenced against the app's database for authentication. Verified numbers permit safe journeys, while unverified ones prompt users to input start and end locations, which are then shared with two designated guardians through the app. It's important to note that Surakshita operates exclusively within its designated region, enhancing safety measures effectively.
