PRINCIPLES is a free adventure game by developer COLOPL, Inc. In this game, you play the role of an adventurer who gets lost in a cave where you’ve found mysterious ruins. It’s up to you to unveil the mysteries and discover what happened.
This game follows the same adventure concepts as Street Chaser and particularly Desert Stalker because of its ancient-civilisations theme. However, even though the concept seems familiar, its hi-tech universe is fascinating and keeps you wanting more, because this is a short adventure. Even then, there are enough details to make it very replayable.
Android games have evolved a lot through the years graphically, and PRINCIPLES is a great example of it. It looks gorgeous wherever you look at it. The cave is incredibly detailed, as is your character. There are also very detailed special effects and ambient lighting.
Incredible graphics
This brings about an issue, though. This game is taxing on some devices, so it might not run well if you’re using older equipment. You can change some settings to make it more playable, but they can only go so far.
Attention to detail
Although this is a short adventure, it seems the developers have invested a lot of effort in making this small world incredibly detailed. Not only are the graphics state-of-the-art, but even the tiniest details are also considered, graphical and otherwise.
For example, you can hear rubbing sounds and water sounds, and objects crash with real-world physics. The developers have built a tiny, credible world you can use for experimentation and find new surprises in each playthrough.
Excellent tech demo, short game
It goes without saying that PRINCIPLES excels in quality, and makes for a very interesting concept to expand on. Everything that it offers is top-notch, and for those having issues given the high-quality graphics, there are options to customise both graphics and sound, making it more accessible on older devices.
The only drawback is its length. This is a very short game which was developed in order to present the new COLOPA brand, COLOPL Creators. As short as it is, the many details you can play around with make it a welcome addition to your adventure games library.
