Create Time Lapse Movies Quickly and Easily

MovieMaker is one of those programs that works, but it's hard to understand why you would need it. The premise of MovieMaker is simple - it automatically creates a movie by plugging together all the photos in a single folder. You can import a folder from your hard drive or drag it onto the program window, and MovieMaker will arrange the images in the order they appear in the folder. However, the controls for editing the movie are quite complicated, making it easier to reorder or re-tag images in the original folder rather than in MovieMaker.

MovieMaker does have some handy features before rendering the final movie. You can select the number of frames, the duration of each image, and the resolution for the video. There are also technical options for choosing the movie format and codec. However, it's unclear what the true purpose of this program is. It claims to be useful for showing holiday pictures, displaying security footage, or sharing nanny cam footage, but there are better alternatives for these purposes. The free demo version of MovieMaker is worth a try, but its limited functionality and complex options make it hard to recommend.
