Free connectivity app

Intel Unison is a free connectivity app by Intel Corporation. When it comes to Android connectivity, most people think about apps like Smart-Connect, Connectivity Fixer or Wireless Network Watcher. However, Intel Unison’s connectivity means something entirely different: it lets you connect your phone to your computer for a seamless experience.
Intel Unison enables you to use your phone from your computer, and easily transfer files between the two devices. There’s one caveat, though. This app is only available for eligible Intel Evo designs on Windows PCs, so if your computer doesn’t comply, it unfortunately won’t work for you.
Making life easier
Here’s a thought. What if you were reading a long PDF file on your phone while commuting, and finally got home? Would you keep reading on that teeny-tiny screen? Most likely, yes, as emailing the file is a bothersome activity, and Bluetooth can be slow for large files.
With Intel Unison, you can keep reading on your computer with a straightforward file-sharing option, making the process as easy as possible. You can also do “phone stuff”, like sending and receiving text messages and even getting your notifications on the computer itself.
And there’s more
Another important feature Intel Unison offers is the ability to make and receive voice calls directly from your PC. This is a game-changer for those who often work with their phones. It allows you to keep working on your computer, eliminating the need of using two devices simultaneously.
The interface is intuitive enough and much simpler than other tools offering similar solutions. Even then, some users complain about several bugs that will likely be addressed as the Intel Corporation is very proactive regarding this app.
Step in the right direction
Intel Unison simplifies many things and throws in some powerful features, too. The fact that you no longer need a phone to make phone calls is reason enough for anyone, especially businesses, to get this app, if available. For the rest, there are enough good features to make it compelling.
However, the fact that you need a Windows PC with Intel Evo makes it off-limits for most potential users, which is a shame. But overall, it’s a good app, and it offers enough features to leave you wondering what else might be possible in a future update.
