Free action-adventure platform game
Screenshots
Insignia is a free adventure platform game with a rich, detailed story. You’ll find several characters along the way to expand the plot, created with a pixel art style. It combines combat and puzzle elements with side-scrolling visuals.
The story depth is similar to A Tale of Crowns and SideQuest, except that Insignia draws you in more. There’s loads of dialogue as you fight your way to the end of the adventure game. You can also create new gear and obtain new abilities to help you on your way.
Adventure time
There have been hundreds of years of peace since the last epic war that raged among the kingdoms. Where men had once forged new trades, they now cross the world as merchants. Armin's (the intrepid protagonist) blacksmith father has vanished without a trace and it’s your job to take up the hammer and anvil and ply his craft in your home village.
Pixel graphics
The 2D pixel graphics hail back to retro games, with the same side-scrolling interface. You will love the scenery in each set as each sprite is hand-drawn. The dialogue appears on the bottom of the screen as the story unfolds. Even the inventory and crafting menu have medieval touches to them.
Action combat mechanics
While the graphics may look outdated, the gameplay isn’t. It combines RPG elements with modern twitch combat systems that are easy to learn. However, you’ll discover that they can be tough to master. It’s anything but a hack-n-slash adventure.
Rich in story
Everywhere you travel, you’ll meet interesting allies and foes. There are many secrets to unveil and treasures to find along the way to finding out what happened to your father and saving the kingdom.
Are you ready for an adventure?
Insignia has exciting gameplay and a detailed story that will keep you busy for hours. There’s also a sense of nostalgia to it that may send you back to the past. It’s reminiscent of the old PC quest games that kept Pentium teenagers away from their homework.
