Free roguelike game for Windows

Die in the Dungeon was created by Alarts for the 2021 Brackeys Game Jam under the theme of ‘Stronger Together’. It’s a free deck-building, turn-based rogue-lite game in which you’re a frog navigating the twenty floors of a dungeon. Die in the Dungeon is a little different, however, because instead of strategising using cards, you use dice.
As you progress, dice are added, so creating the ideal strategy becomes increasingly complicated. Get the right combination and you’ll breeze past your enemies. Try to find the best combination or you’re dead. If you like dungeon-crawling games, you’ll also enjoy Labyrinth of Legendary Loot and Classic Rogue.
Who are the creators of Die in the Dungeon?
Alarts is a young artist who started out creating graphics for Game Jam. To date, they’ve developed a total of six games for Game Ja.
How much does Die in the Dungeon cost?
You can download Die in the Dungeon for free. However, when you click on the ‘Download Now’ button, a window opens with options for contributing to support the developer’s ongoing work. You can pay the suggested nominal amount or a higher amount of your choosing. Alternatively, you can skip any payment and go straight to the free download.
Is Die in the Dungeon safe?
Yes, as long as you download it via a reputable source. If you download it from other sources, you run the risk of unknowingly downloading malware that’s been bundled with it.

Crawling the dungeons
Die in the Dungeon was created in a week as part of the Game Jam, but now, without competition pressures, the developer is regularly updating improvements and new features to the game. It definitely appears to be going in the right direction, as it’s becoming a more complete game. Playability is improving all the time, which is partially based on feedback from members of the developer’s Discord channel.
It’s a game we enjoy within the genre, so we recommend it for dungeon crawlers everywhere.
