Immerse yourself in dungeon environments in this role-playing game. Fight and solve puzzles with hours of gameplay over several levels of intrigue and danger.
Freestyle combat RPG
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is a sequel to the first game in the series, The Sands of Time. Ubisoft introduced an improved free-form combat style, making fighting scenes more enjoyable. You can use the environments to aid you in battle, creating your own fighting style.
The role-playing game features a similar storyline to Prince of Persia: Revelations, with a few changes to some of the levels and functionality. As you progress through the story, you'll unlock new abilities to traverse landscapes towards the next scene in the plot. It's a linear progressive style that requires you to complete the chapter before moving on to the next.
Graphics and environments
Since Ubisoft launched the game in 2004, the graphics are outdated. Yet, there are still a few breathtaking scenes that set the RPG ahead of its time. There are darker tones than Sands of Time, setting the scene for the gory battles.
Lagging voiceovers and sound
Ubisoft presented a great soundtrack for Warrior Within, with some heavy rock music and stunning instrumentals. In contrast, there are instances where there is lagging with lip-synching and audio sounds.
Besides combat, Warrior Within features large-scale puzzles in the form of entire landscapes. There are frustrating moments where gameplay elements don't work well, causing you to die from a simple mechanic. Fortunately, you can rewind time where you can retry that portion of the platform.
Action RPG with outdated features
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is still an enjoyable RPG, despite the outdated graphics and gameplay mechanics. It sets the stage for the final game in the trilogy, The Two Thrones. It isn't a free game as yet, but hopefully, Ubisoft will update it with upgraded visuals and sounds.
