De Blob Review
De Blob (stylised as a BLOB) is a challenging puzzle-game. In the beginning of the game, the player takes control of a simple cube and proceed to place different pieces to form the different sections of the puzzle. The pieces are colored blue, red, orange, yellow, and green and move in three dimensions. The player's goal is to form the most solid block in the fewest moves, while using the fewest turns and angles. As in many of the SIMS games, each level is made up of a sequence of rooms with different color combinations. The first level is the hardest, where players must move objects by carefully following a path and avoiding enemy fireballs and other hazards.
The second and third levels introduce additional challenges, such as enemy waves that must be defeated before moving on to the next room. Each room also contains a collection of powerups that improve each turn. These powers can be used for multiple purposes, such as increasing the speed or vertical movement of the cubes, or stopping the game at any point. Powerups are worth three points at a time, and once used, they are automatically added to the pool.
The game is quite hard, as it requires the player uses all of his mental faculties to solve each room. Although it may sound complicated, it is very rewarding when a de Blob is finally solved. The sound effects are quite nice, and help make the game look nice as well. There is an option to turn off the sound effects, but I find they add to the atmosphere of the game.
